TAIBAH UNIVERSITY is a newly established university. It comprises six faculties: (1) Medicine & Medical Sciences; (2) Education; (3) Science; (4) Computer Science; (5) Financial and Administrative Sciences; and (6) Community College. It is equipped with a chain of Language, Computer and Science laboratories. It has also a closed-circuit television system having 13 studios. It aims at imparting education by highly qualified faculty in all disciplines to cater the needs of our male and female students.

PhD Study Opportunities 2005/2006

The University invites applications for admission to full-time research studies commencing in September 2005. A number of awards will be available for selected applicants1.

Research supervision leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is offered in the following subjects:

Science, Engineering and Information Technology

Biomedical Sciences, Architecture and the Built Environment, Environmental Sciences, Computing and Informatics, Metallurgy and Materials, Nursing, Psychology, Rehabilitation Sciences.

Research supervision leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is offered in the following subjects:

Social Sciences

Business and Management Studies, Communication, Education, Law, Politics, Public and Social Policy, Social Work, Sports Related Subjects.

Master of Research (MRes)

A one-year full-time programme leading to the award of Master of Research is offered in the areas of Biomedical Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences and Environmental Sciences. It is anticipated that awards will be available for selected applicants.

Part-time Study

Applications to undertake part-time study, commencing during 2005, towards the degrees of Master of Clinical Research (MClinRes), Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy and a range of professional doctorates are also welcomed by the University.

How to Apply

To be considered for entry, applicants will be expected to hold or to obtain in 2005 a first or upper second class honours degree in a subject relevant to the proposed research topic.

The closing date for the receipt of applications for full-time study and associated awards is 15 April 2005.

Interviews will form part of the selection process and are likely to be held during the period late April to early May 2005. Selected applicants will be contacted with further details shortly after the closing date.
