good-bye tokyo, hello nagoya
May 30th, 20055 days in tokyo, and i am a shadow of my former self. now i am in nagoya, a small town of 3 million people. quiet and deserted compared to 20-million + tokyo. i know i keep on promising, but i will be posting pictures and videos. at some point in the future.
that was fun
May 25th, 2005having a blast trying to write in a japanese internet cafe. the keyboard keeps switching to japanese characters. i took a video of the screensaver and will post when i get access to a real computer.
hanging out in shinjuku with the hirajuku kids, i think.
the key to withstanding the stress of tokyo madness - earplugs. so if i get run over here you will know why.
RIP Peter
March 17th, 2005From a letter to the editor, Montreal Mirror, March 17:
A former member of Montreal punk bands Fail Safe and Les Flokons Givrés, Peter Boucher, committed suicide on March 9, in Matane, at the age of 40.
Over the past couple of years, he was away from Montreal and the music scene due to multiple drug addiction problems. He died alone, in misery, struggling with schizophrenia.
Music was his life. Like Alex Soria, he was very gifted, and few people had the chance to hear him.
The reason I’m writing you is that a lot of people from the underground scene knew Peter between the ’80s and ’90s, yet few know he’s dead. I find that sad and would appreciate it if you could mention this.
There will be no ceremony, since almost all his family is already dead. But it would be so cool if the people who have worked with Pete could have one last tiny thought for him.
Thank you very much.
» Marie France Herbuté, friend of the family
I’ve put up a page in honour of Peter’s memory:
